Physicians from across Vancouver Island gathered in Sidney last week to celebrate the graduation of cohort two from the Physician Quality Improvement initiative. Physicians presented their projects and shared their experiences from working on their year-long quality improvement projects. Island Health Board Chair Leah Hollins, SSC representative Dr. Gordon Hoag and PQI Steering Committee member Dr. Rod McFadyen spoke about the importance of quality improvement.“PQI provides physicians with the opportunity to pursue their curiosity” says Leah Hollins. The physicians from cohort two “are very impressive in their ability to focus on the patient and make the patient’s care better.”
