PQI Publishing Supports

Wherever you are on your QI journey, we can help!

Supports are available for physicians and their QI teams to publish and showcase their Learning Action Projects.

Attend a writing workshop

These workshops, hosted by PQI graduates, provide an overview of Squire guidelines, explain how to showcase your work, and outline key considerations for the publication process. Participants will have opportunities to work on their manuscripts during the workshop and receive feedback.

Workshop pre-requisites:

  • You have conducted PDSA (plan-do-study-act) cycles and collected data for your project.
  • You have started developing a manuscript that will be ready for journal peer review within a few weeks of attending the workshop.

Connect with a mentor

Are you considering submitting your work for publication in a journal? A mentor can help you develop your writing, direct you to the right channels to publish your project, and guide you through the submission process.

Ready to submit your manuscript?

You can apply to have the submission fee covered. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You have completed PQI cohort training (Level 3).
  • You have a physician on the team.
  • You have received an introduction to QI manuscript writing (i.e., SQUIRE or other).
  • A writing mentor has proofread your manuscript.

Receive sessional funding for your time and hard work

Physicians who have completed and submitted their manuscript may also receive up to seven hours of sessional funding. Please note: As annual funding to support publishing is limited, funding is not guaranteed for all applicants.
