Physician Leadership Scholarship Program (PLSP) Initiative Pause for FY2024/25

In the last year, interest in the Physician Leadership Scholarship Program has grown enormously. As a result, the program has already committed its allocated funding for the FY 2024/25 fiscal year. To accommodate the growth in interest, SSC/SCC provided a 24% increase in the 2024/25 budget.  It is exciting to know that so many physicians want to advance leadership and quality improvement skills to be better prepared to work through the issues and challenges of our ever-changing health system landscape.

Effective 5:00pm on August 12, 2024, the Specialist Services Committee and the Shared Care Committee are not accepting any new applications to the SSC/SCC Physician Leadership Scholarship for the remainder of fiscal year 2024/25 (to March 31, 2025), as the budget for program has now been fully allocated.

Physicians who submitted an application prior to 5:00pm PST August 12, 2024 will still have applications assessed. If an application is approved for funding prior to the August 12 application closure, the PLSP will support the approved funding amount and reimbursement will be provided as per the usual process.

We understand that this suspension in funding may be disappointing for those who had not yet submitted applications for this year’s funding opportunities.

The PLSP Advisory Group, the SSC and SCC will be working to design new strategies that will maximize the learning opportunities while remaining fiscally responsible.
