March 3 2026 - 6:00pm
Meeting

Specialists from across B.C. are invited to register for the virtual symposium on March 3 from 6–8 p.m. PST to learn about and share enablers and/or barriers to providing specialist care in a rural context, as well as to learn about funding and supports available for the development of specialist outreach clinics in rural communities. Sessional funding will be provided for attendance.

This session is being offered as a collaboration between Facility Engagement and the project “Improving Access to Specialist Care for Rural Communities,” co-funded by the Joint Standing Committee on Rural Issues and Specialist Services Committee and supported through the Rural Coordination Centre of BC.

Specialists and primary care providers are also encouraged to participate in a research study aimed at understanding experiences in providing care to a rural BC community, with honorarium provided for those who participate. Email Alison Irvine at airvine@rccbc.ca for information and/or to participate.

The Specialist Services Committee acknowledges that we work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of many different Indigenous Nations throughout British Columbia.

Acknowledging that we are on the traditional territories of First Nations communities is an expression of cultural humility and involves recognizing our duty and desire to support the provision of culturally safe care to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people in BC.
