New Specialist EMR Funding and Post-Implementation Support

Posted on Oct 14, 2014

If you are a specialist who has adopted an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system – you should know about a new time-bound opportunity for additional support being offered through the Specialist Services Committee.

The EMR Funding and Post-Implementation Support offers additional funding of $3,000 per physician who have reached Meaningful Use Level 3. In addition, there is training and technology support for you and your administrative staff, which can include Medical Office Assistant (MOA) Learning Sessions, physician and MOA peer mentor support, EMR User Group meetings, and specialized technical support. The funding and support is only available until March 2015, and you must apply to participate by November 30, 2014. If you'd like more information about funding and/or the supports, please send an email to: emrsupport@doctorsofbc.ca

How to Apply
By October 24, 2014, you should receive an email from emrsupport@doctorsofbc.ca (PSP Technology Group [PSP-TG]). The email will inform you about this new funding and support, and provide a link to apply. As part of the application process, you will be asked to complete a short survey. Since the deadline for completion is November 30, 2014, you are encouraged to complete the application process as quickly as possible.

Haven’t Received an Email?
If you have only implemented an EMR in the last eight months or the PSP-TG doesn’t have your email address – you probably didn’t receive an email. If you haven’t received an email by October 24, simply send an email to emrsupport@doctorsofbc.ca and indicate your interest. Once you’ve sent an email, you will receive the email with a link to apply.

Getting Full Value
This EMR Funding and Post-Implementation Support will help you identify how to get the most value from your EMR system. Important dates to remember:

  • Complete application and survey by November 30, 2014
  • Post-implementation Support ends March 31, 2015

SSC wants to help you make a long-term investment in your present and future work environment to increase your efficiency and ultimately enhance patient care. Any questions or if you want more information, please send an email to: emrsupport@doctorsofbc.ca
