Surgical Patient Optimization Collaborative - Learning Session 3
The third learning session of the Surgical Patient Optimization Collaborative (SPOC) was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic from May and was conducted semi-virtually on September 28 with over 100 participants in 15 teams from across the province. The purpose of this session was to re-engage the SPOC teams, discuss how to spread and sustain the work being done, connect the teams to help navigate challenges and celebrate wins, and to dedicate some project planning time within teams.
The attendees included 37 physicians, 49 allied health partners, and 14 project managers – some site teams decided to meet in person at their site level, while others decided to dial in individually. It was a first trial of this kind for the central SPOC team and was successful given that 99% of the attendees stayed until the end of the six and a half hour session as well as the great post-event feedback – see two examples below and read the full evaluation summary here:
“Awesome learning session yesterday – kudos to the SPOC team for putting on a successful virtual Learning Session!”
“You all did an outstanding job, and it was great to have an opportunity to work for the day with the KGH Team.”
